Useful Sources Of Information

To help you identify courses with specific skills or employment outcomes, such as qualifications available from TAFEs, registered training organisations or universities, you can access any of the following resources:

  • TAFE Courses Directory: This directory provides detailed information about accredited TAFE courses and providers in Victoria. The directory is produced annually and distributed to education and training providers. It is available to the public through Information Victoria (call 1300 366 356) or can be accessed online at www.skills.vic.gov.au/tafe_students/directory
  • TAFE Course Line: Skills Victoria operated telephone and online service provides information about accredited higher education and TAFE courses as well as short courses across Victoria. Call 131 823 and select option 1 from within Victoria, or (03) 9637 2222 from interstate.
  • Skills Victoria: Skills Victoria is located within the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development and is responsible for the planning, regulation and delivery of education and training programs and services in Victoria. These services include:

    • 18 publicly-owned Training and Further Education (TAFE) institutions (includes four university with TAFE divisions);

    • Victoria's business and industry sector, which supports over 112,000 people in training; and

    • Over 1,000 vocational education and training providers.
